Learning Together Conference 2017

I will demonstrate three Schoology-integrated, online, interactive learning games that I programmed for my Latin students. (My students actually get credit for the design elements that make these games instead of mere activities... their feedback was crucial!) These games combine instruction, formative assessment, summative assessment, data collection, and student engagement into one seamless activity. Attendees will be able to play the games on their own iPads/laptops/phones and the natural diversity of "game play styles" among the attendees will serve as the demonstration of how these activities self-differentiate. If the attendees are interested and if time allows, I'll describe how I work backwards from a learning objective to an activity design. In the session materials, I'll share a cross-section of data showing how actual Latin students with different learning styles were equally successful without being given prescribed procedures for "winning" the games. The session will not cover *programming* itself, but I'm willing to collaborate with colleagues after the conference if they'd like to build an application of their own.
